Dodge Caravan LE
| ||Model of the car:||Dodge Caravan LE|
| ||General comments:||Solid vehicle. Not the smoothest or quietest ride, but has been worth the money for us. Key to keeping problems at a minimum is routine preventative maintenance. Get those oil changes and services done at the recommended milage (force yourself to spend the bucks even if you're not having problems!) and you'll find that the vehicle will last longer and give you FAR less grief. (a lesson learned from NOT servicing the previous van as recommended) Have had zero transmission or electrical problems; routine repair and maintenance only. Very good choice for a large family, for those that just like the extra space, or for long road trips. Fuel economy has been more than acceptable.|
| ||What things have gone wrong with the car:||Noisy ride. Not due to interior faults or rattling, just not especially well insulated from the road. Interior plastics, while showing no serious wear after nearly 7 years, are also rather "cheap" looking. Two "from the factory faults": sliding door window latch has always popped open unexpectedly, and liftgate window seal leaked black glue from the start. (which, after simply cleaning it up, has long since stopped being a problem and did not cause any water leakage or other issues)|
| ||Previous car:||88 Voyager with plenty of electrical and trans issues. This 94 Caravan outdoes it by far.|
