Caravan Se

 Model of the car:Caravan Se
General comments:Wow! I didn't know these things were so bad! I have had (actually, my wife drives them) 2 of these, the first an 85. BOTH with standard, 5 speed transmmissions. I sold the first one at 118K miles, and it didn't burn any oil. Only the AC went out on that one, and it was aftermarket anyway. Our current 94 has 128K miles on it, and is still going strong, with no major problems except a clutch at 70k, but I expected that. It has outlasted Ford Windstars and Chevy, whatever they call their minivans, of our friends. I think all those other people must have the 3.3 engine, which my local dealer says is junk. I would buy another one, and will next year. The brake rotors did require replacement sooner than I thought they should, but that is all the major things. These are actually the most reliable vehicles I have owned, including a Datsun 260Z, Porsche 924 and 944 (talk about expensive to repair!) and Jeeps.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Brake rotors don't last.
 Previous car:85 and 94 Caravans.
